Harvest Fest and Maine Beer Week

November 11th-20th

11-11-11 Will be Maine Beer Week Oxbow Special. Pouring some very unique and one off Oxbow beers. Its a must.

Harvest Fest will 11th - 2oth and we will be pouring all the unique offering from all around the world. German Doppelbocks, Belgian Saison's, Austrian Barrel Aged Bock, Scottish Gin Barrel Aged Bitters... it will be some of the most unique offerings put on tap at the Lions Pride Ever.

November 20th we will be wrapping up the Harvest Fest with a Harvest Menu at 3:00pm Sunday. All Locally Harvested food Menu and all Locally Produced Beverages.

7 courses, Reservations are Required.

This Monday September 12th the owner and head brewer of De Troch will be at the Lions Pride doing a Lambic Tasting.

Pauwel Raes, Owner Brew Master of De Troch Lambic Brewery will be at the Lions Pride.

Doing a Tasting from 5:30 to 7:30. Serving Strawberry, Rasberry, even banana lambics.

Thursday September 15th Tim and Geoff of OxBow Brewing will be in the house tapping a gravity keg of Wet Hopped Simcoe FPA. A must stop in and try. After you put 2lbs of hops in a 5 gallon pin you are looking at some 40 pours so we will tap in at 6:00pm stop in soon after.

Good Weather Good Days We have just rolled out some great new Ciders from Urban Farm Fermentory based out of Portland (thanks Eli). These are great ciders; dry hopped and Baby Jimmy aged in Jim Beam Bourbon Barrels. A great drink on these nice spring days, gearing up for the Summer Days. New taps rolled out as we have re-bounded from the Belgian Beer Fest.

For the days to come we are looking at planning a small Saison Fest. Looking at some great beers on the board; some the best and most complex beers in the world.

Also we are planning a Mother’s Day 5 course brunch. Rough draft posted below. May 8th 12:00 noon. Reservation are required this will be a smaller seating only of 25 persons. This would potentially start the Saison Fest and we would run a changed beer menu from May 8th -15th

We have been very fortunate to have all the new Stillwater Ales import beers on tap, also his Baltimore Produced Existent and 25-1. These are great beers from a very cool producer, he is a gypsy producer, he has no home brewery but brewes all over the world. Jaded collaboration with Struise; bottles of Our Side collaboration with Mikkeller. A Darkly saison and Of love and Regret on tap loaded with tasty botanicals. Just great beer.

Huge thanks to all who came out for the week of the Belgium beer fest it was a blast. And a huge thanks to those who are always in support of us that allow us to put on these events and drafts. We have changed the taps put up some new ones and re-stocked some much needed hops and stouts on the list. We also just picked up a killer killer cider from a local hard cider maker. Homa a dry hopped cider that is just off the charts good. Made from urban farms fermentory. We are planning some news events thinking about a small saison or spring fest and in July a HOP fest. as we think of it we will post it. Cheers

Sorry for the Delay, we are gearing up hard for the Belgium Beer Fest

March 25th - April 2nd

Less than a week away at this point and things are coming together as planned.

We are looking at a great tap list at this point. We are going to represent from Belgium as well as the rest of Europe. Way Way Exciting to see some of the more Rare and Obscure beers from outside the Box.

As far as a game plan We will replace the tap Thursday night so Friday March 25th we are game to go for drinking all the goodies.

Sunday March 27th -

Beer and Cheese pairing 2:00pm in the Atrium.

We will be wrapping up the Week April 1st and 2nd.

April 1st

Brain from Stillwater Artinial Ales will be here doing a beer Release 7:00pm a great chance to meet and greet from one of the best brewers out there.

April 2nd

We will cap off the Fest With a 10 Course Beer Dinner. All courses cook and paired with world class beer. A great chance to see why we are all so passionate about what we do. Stillwater will be represented as well as a whole lot of other great brewers.

Happy Holidays to all, it has been fun these past few weeks tasting some awesome brews from all over the world with you all. From The Amazing Vin Cin Mead to the New Nøgne ø Imerial Stout. The winter time is always a fun time of the year, and we have just begun.

The Pride will be closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas day, but you can be sure the day after greats brews will be poured. We have been doing some great food specials too. Tonights was a Pork Loin marinated in stout, figs, rosemary... sweet potato puree and cream corn sauce on the side. Yes please.

Allagash Big Little!

Brewed in collaboration with the Alström Bros, this beer was made by taking the less concentrated runnings from the same grain bill as "Little Big Beer" and is fermented with a Trappist ale yeast strain.

According to legend, on Christmas Eve in Germany rivers turn to wine, animals speak to each other, tree blossoms bear fruit, mountains open up to reveal precious gems, and church bells can be heard ringing from the bottom of the sea. Of course, only the pure in heart can witness this Christmas magic. All others must content themselves with traditional German celebrating, of which there is plenty. As a matter of fact, there is so much celebrating that is has to begin on December 6th, St. Nicholas Day.

In honor of the Holiday Spirit we will be throwing a Germanic Fest.
Held from December 2nd to the 11th.

Yes Gulden as in Gulden Draak. Cool misty day noting is better than a nice Dark Triple. Super limited Glasses so we will start at 7:30. Gulden Draak the exception among the rest being a Triple and that it is Dark in color. Drinks smooth, clean cannot go wrong.

Looks like Chris and the Lions Pride in Brunswick Maine is doing it again. Throwing another awesome fest with some crazy good beers.

Starts Thursday May 13th ends 16th - Lions Pride Glass is honored so if you have one from the Belgium Beer fest Roll back in with it and drink out of it for this fest. Fixed prices for the glass fills makes it easier to drink all day and night.

We just got in some sweet posters for the upcoming Hop Fest so sweet. We have new kegs rolling in every week; Stone Brewery kegs coming in strong along with some more Milkkeller.

I will have a new list of what we are putting on in a day or two.

As far as whats going on this week Tonight Tuesday April 27th we have Jimmy Midnight and the Yurtbirds - Full band they Rock hard trust me a unreal time.

Wednesday Beer Tasting is looking like it might be Server Favorites. We will be taking a look at what one unknown server likes to drink personally and share that with the crowd that joins us.

Thursday Night Gank the Goblet will be a Belgium Night. We will be serving on an easy drinker Stella!!!!!! Gold Rimmed glass come in and pull a pint and keep the glass.

New Glasses coming in as I write, and new bottles soon to be stocked.

Starting December 1st

The Lion's Pride Open Mic is a venue for individuals, and small groups. Stage space is limited so that being said, all acts that fit are welcome; musicians, singers, poets, magicians... (No tumblers or jugglers please)

Performers should be able to set up quickly.

Time slots are 20 to 30 minutes. Performers can sign up online by invitation or choose from the remaining slots the night of the event. To be put on the invitation mailing list email, scooter@growstown.com with the Lion's Pride List in the subject and your name and email address in the body.
